Letter
to the Foundation
December
29, 2002
Dear
Friend and Foundation Member:
I
want to thank you for your continued interest in the Helen Moss
Breast Cancer Research Foundation. We now have 500 members. If
you have not yet sent in your membership for 2002 or wish to be
credited with membership for 2003, please send in the enclosed
form. The Tea this year brought us $15,000. We have raised in
the last two years $95,000 and have dispensed about $10,000 in
educational grants to medical professionals to learn about "Integrative"
cancer care or 'Complementary" Medicine.
Merrill
Lynch, once again, funded the tea and all the expenses. They flew
in our speaker, Dr. Susan Bauer-Wu of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute
of Boston - Harvard. If anyone would like a reprint of her presentation
entitled "Cancer Survivorship and Integrative Therapies,"
please or e-mail me.
The
law firm of Ziegler, Metzger & Miller is donating the bookkeeping
responsibilities and establishing a database for our Foundation.
I expect soon to have your e-mail addresses grouped so that I
might communicate with you more often.
I
will be attending again the "Comprehensive Cancer Care Conference"
on integrative medicine in Washington D.C. in April. I spoke to
this group in 2001 and my talk was to be "What Cancer Patients
Want and Expect" except my talk was "What I Wanted and
Expected, but Didn't Get." If you would like information
about this 4-5 day conference and/or a tape of my talk, please
let me know..
I
am on the advisory board of the "National Foundation of Alternative
Medicine" out of Washington, D.C. or NFAM. When I attended
their meeting a few months ago, they asked me to accompany their
Board members to Bangalore, India for the international Holistic
and Integrative Medical Conference. The Dalai Lama will preside
over the opening. Richard Fleischman, my husband, and I will be
attending Jan. 10 to Jan. 22. I am very excited and I will share
with you much information. This Foundation is funded by a very
wealthy individual, and it investigates cancer clinics in various
parts of the world. Their web site is www.nfam.org.
Be
Well, .
Helen Moss
