Dale H. Cowan, MD, JD, FACP, FCLM

Dale H. Cowan, MD, JD, FACP is Past Director, Department of Regional
Oncology of The Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center and a Clinical
Professor of Environmental Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve
University. He is board certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology
and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the
American College of Legal Medicine.
After graduating from Harvard
College, Dr. Cowan earned his MD degree from Harvard Medical School.
He did his residency in internal medicine at MetroHealth Medical
Center in Cleveland, served as a clinical associate at the National
Institutes of Health, and completed his training with a Traineeeship
in Hematology at Case Western University School of Medicine. Dr.
Cowan was a member of the Faculty of Medicine at Case Western
Reserve University for 12 years before entering private practice.
He subsequently became a member of the Staff of the Cleveland
Clinic. Dr. Cowan earned his law degree from the Law School of
Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Cowan is a recipient of the
David J. Greenburg Service Award from the National Health Lawyers
Association. He serves on the Board of Governors and is Secretary
of the Board of the American College of Legal Medicine and is
a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Legal Medicine.
He is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in
the World, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Who’s
Who in American Law.
