Dr.
Deng is a physician-scientist in the Integrative Medicine Service
at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He is a
board-certified internist whose clinical interests are in symptom
control, supportive care and health maintenance in cancer patients
and cancer survivors. He has a particular interest in the role
of complementary medicine modalities in cancer patients. Dr. Deng
is also a molecular biologist with experience and publications
in cancer biology and immunology. His research interests include
botanical agents in cancer prevention and treatment, and complementary
therapies for symptom control. Dr. Deng is a Principal Investigator
or Co-Principal Investigator of several basic and clinical research
projects underway or in development in the Integrative Medicine
Service.
Dr.
Deng received his medical degree from Beijing Medical University,
China and his Ph.D. degree in Microbiology and Immunology from
University of Miami, Florida. He completed his clinical training
at University of Texas Houston Medical School and research training
at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Prior to joining
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as an Assistant Attending,
Assistant Member, he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at
the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Deng is
a member of the Institutional Review Board, the Nutrition Committee
and the Cancer Survivorship Steering Committee at Memorial Sloan-Kettering
Cancer Center.
