PAUL C. FEINGOLD, Ph.D.

Dr. Paul Feingold, a native of Chicago, Illinois, joined Myers University as Vice President for Academic Affairs in August of 1997 and was appointed the University's sixteenth President in April of 2001.

Dr. Feingold began his business career in California in 1965 where he served as an operations officer with the Bank of America. He joined Proctor & Gamble as a regional sales representative in 1968 and ended his pre-academic career as a steel broker for the L.B. Foster Company in 1971. During this time, Dr. Feingold was a part-time student attending college in the evening. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from California State University at Long Beach in 1971. That same year, he was awarded a teaching assistantship at Purdue University where he earned his Master of Arts degree in interpersonal communication in 1973 and his doctorate in organizational communication/organizational behavior in 1976.

Dr. Feingold's career as professor, dean, consultant, and vice president for academic affairs spans almost 30 years. He began his academic career as an assistant professor in the department of communication at the University of New Mexico and then served as associate professor at Howard University in Washington, D.C. In 1979, Dr. Feingold left academia as he accepted the position of Vice President, Consulting Services and Project Development, for Systems Corporation of America. Family issues drew him back to California and the academic world in 1983 where he accepted an assignment as an academic consultant to the Graduate School of Business at the University of Southern California. His work led to his appointment as a graduate professor and director of the school's graduate program in Management Communication. After completing seven years as USC, Dr. Feingold was appointed dean of the College of Business at Northrop University and promoted to full professor. He also has served as the business school dean at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York and National University in San
Diego, California.

Dr. Feingold has written, lectured, and consulted extensively in the fields of business management, training, and communications. He is the author of over 40 scholarly papers and has delivered over 100 presentations and speeches. He was the founding Editor of Management Communication Quarterly and has been asked to critique over 100 articles, papers and manuscripts He is currently president of the Ohio College Association and serves on numerous non profit boards. In 1998 he was recognized as Visionary by the Small Business News and has also received numerous awards and other recognition for his service to his community and to his profession. Dr. Feingold has also consulted with leading corporations and government agencies such as AT&T, Motorola, Pfizer Corp., Digital Corporation, Union Carbide, Yellow Pages, Exxon, the Governor of New Mexico, The People's Forum on Education, the United States Department of Defense, the Washington D.C. Public Schools, and the United States Civil Service Commission.

The impact of Dr. Feingold's leadership is visible throughout Myers University. As Vice President for Academic Affairs, he designed and implemented the MBA program; launched the criminal justice administration degree program; upgraded the faculty, got the Business School Accredited by IACBE, introduced the areas first online degrees and Certified Financial Planning Program, designed and opened of three new academic centers; and added six new majors and five concentrations to the curriculum. As president he has acquired the Beckwith-Stager Mansion for the University's MidTown campus, stabilized the University's finances, reorganized the university, created a strong niche for the University, raised awareness of the university's mission and importance to the community, and drafted the University's vision statement. Dr. Feingold's vision for the University, within the next five years, is to have it become the premiere University of Choice for urban students and working adults. Through these programs and other initiatives, Myers University is addressing this vision as it focuses its efforts on the needs of its students and the Greater Cleveland community. His currently serving on four non profit boards in the Cleveland area and was the President of the Ohio College Association. Most recently, he was elected to the President's Council of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Dr. Feingold and his wife, Dayle, live in Sandusky, Ohio and have four children - Robin, Stephanie, Zachary, and Brian. They also have five grandchildren, Lauren Emily, Jali, Zach Jr. and Sydney.
