The Story of Helen Moss

When I first discovered my cancer, I very naively felt that I could be just like Bruce Willis' character in 'Die Hard' and that I would fight this cancer off and be victorious. However, the treatment pulled me down and 'fighting' or that mind set drained my energy.

November 13, 2009- Helen Moss Recieves the 2009 Patient Advocacy Award from the SIO

On November 13, 2009 Helen Moss received, at the SIO's Annual Conference, the 2009 Patient Advocacy Award. At the same time board member Dr. Barrie Cassileth, MD received the SIO's Recognition Award for advancing the field of integrative oncology.

Dr. Nathan Berger Named Trustee of the SIO

berger-sm Former founding trustee of the Helen Moss Breast Cancer Foundation, Dr. Nathan Berger, has been named a trustee of the Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO).

Nathan A. Berger, M.D. is the Hanna-Payne Professor of Experimental Medicine and Director of the Center for Science, Health and Society. He is Professor of Medicine, Biochemistry and Oncology at Case Western Reserve University, School of Medicine.

Grant Recipients for 2009 SIO Conference

On November 12-13, 2009 the SIO will hold its Sixth Annual Conference at the New York Academy of Medicine. This year the Helen Moss Breast Cancer Research Foundation will be funding four Cleveland Area Medical Professional's trips to the Conference. These prefessionals are Dr. Amy LeJeune, Dietition, Rick Creger, Pharmacy, Dr. Lyla Blake, MD, and Nancy Tamburro, DSW, all of University Hospitals.
