The Story of Helen Moss

When I first discovered my cancer, I very naively felt that I could be just like Bruce Willis' character in 'Die Hard' and that I would fight this cancer off and be victorious. However, the treatment pulled me down and 'fighting' or that mind set drained my energy.

What: Helen Moss poke at the 2nd Annual Conference of the Center for Mind Body Medicine convened by Dr. James Gordon in Washington DC before 1,400 medical professionals, it was here where Helen met Dr. Stephen Sagar who later became President of SIO and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Helen Moss Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Foundation sent six medical professionals to the conference..

What: Cleveland Plain Dealer reporter, Connie Schultz, wrote a ½ page story with pictures about Helen Moss’ cancer and her treatment  The Helen Moss Breast Cancer Research Foundation was set in motion by the publicity.

 

 

 
October 2000- Tea Party in the Midst of Chemeotherapy PDF Print E-mail

What: In the midst of her chemeotherapy treatments Helen hosts the first Tea Party and Fundraiser. The speakers were the then Dean of Case Western Reserve University Medical School, Dr. Nathan Berger, and the then Head of the Ireland Cancer Center of University Hospital. The entertainment was provided by members of the Cleveland Opera and featured perfromances from the musical "Hair".
